Meet J.T.

J.T. McComas-Roe is not your typical candidate. He’s a licensed master plumber, a small business owner, and a hands-on problem solver who’s spent over a decade building his life in Fairbanks. Married and settled with two energetic Scottish Terriers—Hamilton and Hilda—J.T. is stepping into the political arena for the first time, bringing with him years of real-world experience and public service.

Service Without the Spotlight:

J.T. has quietly dedicated himself to boards and commissions where real work happens—out of the spotlight, but close to the issues that impact our community:
    •    Trustee, Alaska State Council on the Arts
    •    Member, City of Fairbanks Board of Plumber Examiners
    •    Former Member, FNSB Platting Board
    •    Former Member, FNSB Planning Commission
    •    Former Member, FAST Planning Technical Committee
    •    Former Member, State of Alaska Roads and Highways Advisory Board

A Grounded Perspective:

With practical knowledge of infrastructure, development, and regulation, J.T. understands how policy decisions affect everyday life. He believes in:
    •    Listening before leading
    •    Keeping government accountable and efficient
    •    Protecting individual freedoms and local values
    •    Supporting working families and small businesses

Why He's Running:

J.T. is running because it’s time for working-class voices to have a seat at the table. He’s not a politician—he’s a citizen stepping up to serve his community with no agenda other than doing what’s right for Fairbanks.
